Three principles guide how Cloak is designed.

Unseen

Cloak can't make your transaction invisible — validators have to see it to include it. What it controls is who sees it and how much room they get: protected sending paths instead of broad broadcast, leaders with a sandwiching record avoided, and slippage set tight enough that a sandwich isn't worth attempting.

Proven, not estimated

Every sandwich leaves a trace on-chain: a buy right before your swap and a sell right after, from the same actor. After each protected swap, Cloak checks the block it landed in and shows you the result. You see what the fee paid for — not just a claim that protection happened.

Fee only when it works

The protection fee applies only to swaps that actually went through the protected path — never as a blanket charge. No Cloak fee is charged today, since the beta hasn't launched yet. See Fee Policy for the exact conditions and current status.
