Fee Policy
When a fee applies, when it doesn't, and why.
Draft values. The percentage below is a working figure for design/testing purposes and will be confirmed against the actual relay/infrastructure implementation before mainnet launch.
When a fee applies
Cloak charges a protection fee only on swaps that executed through the protected relay path — draft rate: 0.15%–0.30% of swap value (final number to be set by the team).
When no fee applies
If protected routing was not available and your swap fell back to standard public-mempool routing, no protection fee is charged, regardless of trade size.
Summary
| Standard swap | Protected swap | |
|---|---|---|
| Base swap fee | 0% | 0% |
| Protection fee | — | 0.15%–0.30%, protected swaps only |
| Fee when protection isn't delivered | — | 0% |
Why a fee at all
Protected routing has real infrastructure cost (relay access, priority inclusion). The fee funds that path — it is not charged on swaps where no protection was actually delivered.
Reducing this fee
Holding $CLOAK discounts the protection fee at swap time — see the token page for the tiers.
